2009 Accomplishments

The new administration along with congress put together an impressive list of accomplishments this year. A record deficit, double digit unemployment, increased terrorist activity, new taxes, bigger goverment, blah blah blah. Many Americans voted for change and we got it. Our leaders have managed to implement their changes at warped speed. As predicted BHO has managed to set the country back decades in less than a year. More changes are planned for 2010. How much more of this change can we take? With the dawning of a new year comes the hope that Americans will wake up and decide to make some changes of their own. We have a chance with the 2010 elections to move the country in a different direction, the RIGHT direction. We can fire those who have decided they know what's good for us depite our constant objections. We can elect people who will do the will of the people. Never in this country's history has it been more important to stay engaged, put aside personal agendas and get those who are trying to ruin the American way of life out of office. Those are the changes we need. Happy New Year!

Christmas Terror

Memories of Christmas Day 2009 were marred by the attempted terrorist act on an airliner bound from Amsterdam to Detroit. This extremist was actually allowed to board the plane despite reports of his intent expressed to authorities by his own father. Fortunately the act was thwarted and the only one injured was the terrorist.
What is more disturbing is the administrations reaction to the event. BHO has been silent and Director of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano actually said the system worked exactly as is should have once the threat was recognized. WTH is wrong with her? This is yet another example of how absolutely obtuse this administration is to the fact that this is a war.
Since this administration has been in power not only did we have this event, but also the Fort Hood Shootings. Three hikers are still being held hostage in Iran and nothing is being done to gain their release. All these things happened for one reason. We have gotten weaker as a country and the world knows it. Would any of these events have happened under the past administration? I can’t say for sure, but what I do know is we would be more proactive then we are now.
The fact that we are hated seems to really bother some Americans and the powers currently in Washington. We are hated because of the freedoms we have, not because of our military might. Our military might has protected us. While countries have always hated us they were hesitant to do anything about it because they know we have the ability to make the cost of any attack against us not worth the devastation they would suffer.
Now instead of being hated and feared, we are hated and laughed at. This administration doesn’t want to accept the fact that we have always been and will always be hated. It’s not the job of the government to play nice with people who can’t be reasoned with and are hell bent on destroying our way of life. It is the government’s job to protect the citizens of this country so we can live without fear.
As Americans we should be afraid of what the future holds with people in charge that will not stand up for America. Unless something changes soon my message to Americans is be afraid, be very afraid.

Priorities?

In their typical covert fashion the Senate passed their version of Health Care Reform under the cover of night. Harry Reid and his ilk managed to fleece Americans yet again using good ole fashion bribery and arm twisting. The thing that most puzzles me is that I don't hear anyone complaining. While most people I know don't like or want this plan there doesn't seem to be much outrage over it. People around here were far more concerned with Saints loss to the Cowboys then something that will effect the rest of their life. I hear no one talking about the underhanded way this bill was voted on. We should be outraged and voicing our displeasure to anyone in a position to vote on this. Where are our priorities? It is up to us to keep our elected officials in check and make sure they do the will of the people. Hopefully over the holidays we all write and call our senators and let them know how we feel. Remember THEY WORK FOR US. We need to let them know that their careers are in our hands.

Conspiracy Theory

I saw a new show in TV that attempts to uncover the truth on the many cover ups. The show Conspiracy Theory hosted by Jesse Ventura and is aired on Tru TV on Wednesday nights. Jesse Ventura is a former wrestler and Govenor of Minnesota. He wrote a book titled "I aint got time to Bleed". I am certainly not going to say I agree with his views on everything, but I do admire his search for the truth.

His first show was about Global Warming and how it is a blot not to save the planet, but to make money, lots of it. Jesse was a global warming believer and friend of Al Gore , but still had the integity once it was investigated, to admit that there is overwhelming evidence being covered up to the contrary. It is an episode I will save on the DVR so I can refer back to it and show it to others who care to see the other side of this issue. I cant wait until the next episode. I encourage everyone to watch this show. Like the good book says " The Truth shall set you free"

We are Screwed

The candidates for the New Orleans Mayors race are set. The 11 candidates are : Jonah Bascle, Mitch Landrieu, Ed Murray, Rob Couhig, John Georges, Troy Henry,James Perry, Nadine Ramsey, Jerry Jacobs and Manny Bruno. Of all these candidiates only a couple should be considered serious contenders.

I love this city, but most people here don't get it. The citizens cry out for things to change, but vote based on personal biases that make it impossible for change to occur. The faces in the office change, but not much else. We need to change our way of thinking if we want positive things to happen. Party affiliation, gender, and race shouldn't be issues. Sadly these are the things that seem to matter most. That is the problem. The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over, but expecting different results. If we attempt to build a future on the foundation of the past, we will as many houses around here do....sink. There are only a couple of candidates that give us a chance at a new and brighter future. Ron Couhig a Republican is one, but has about as much chance to win as I would if I were running. John Georges is a SUCCESSFUL business man, who gets things done. This undoubtly eliminates him. What's most likely to happen is, Mitch Landrieu will emerge as the favorite. While he is the most qualified he is also part of the Landrieu political machine and thus part of the problem. This leaves no one who is both electable and good for the city. New Orleans has a long road ahead of it unless Georges or Couhig can pull an upset.

A Small Victory (Maybe)

The Left seems to have given in on some of the atrocities that were included in Obama Care. A major concession is the supposed elimination of the government run portion of the plan along and the Medicare buy in. Senator Joe Lieberman now seems poised to support the bill. The lone wolf is Senator Ben Nelson who is vehemently opposed to any sort of tax payer funded abortion provision in the bill. Good for you Ben! If this part of the bill is changed it would appear that he will support the bill and it will pass. This version of the bill will be quite different then the original version. I have doubts as to whether these things will actually have been change when BHO signs the bill. This is to say I don’t think they will have changed. If indeed I am mistaken and these things aren’t in the final signed version of the bill it will only be a small victory for the people. Even with these changes this is still a bad bill. It won’t lower cost it will raise the deficit and will negatively affect both the quality and availability of healthcare, and the economy.
The only way to reform healthcare the RIGHT way is through Tort Reform, which will lower insurance cost for Doctors. Portability of insurance and tax breaks for companies to further cut costs. We should also have the ability to fill prescriptions in neighboring countries with less expensive medications of equal quality. This will give U.S. companies incentive to lower prices. Free market competition will ensure quality service at lower costs.
No doubt if this bill doesn't the Democrats will point fingers at the Republicans and say they voted against reform. I suppose in their warped perception of reality they believe this. My advice to the GOP and the American people is to not buy into this finger pointing. The GOP knows this bill is bad for America and should vote against it. If this bill passes the American people should vote out anyone who voted for this bill. Are you listening Mary Landrieu? We should then elect people willing to fight the president and amend this bill into something that will be good for all Americans.

True Colors

Mary Landrieu showed her true colors yesterday by voting the partline supporting further debate of Obamacare. She was wooed by the promise of 300 million of federal dollars for medicaid in her district. Also the proposed ban on raw oysters has been mysteriously DELAYED. The timing of these developments was not a coincidence. She caved in and voted the partyline when the pressure was on. Basically she sold us out, just as she always has. When will we learn that this particular political family has always put politics above the people they serve? Instead of killing this bill she cast the deciding vote to continue debate of this catastrophe of a bill that Americans are overwhelmingly opposed to. Show her how opposed you are to politics as usual when you vote in 2010.

I'm back

It’s been quite sometime since I have posted anything. I have been working on the house, working two jobs, and have been battling an ear infection. Also I must be honest I have been a little depressed about how bad things have gotten. The economy is worse then it’s been in decades. The Healthcare debacle was passed by the house as were other bills designed to take hard earned dollars. The administration continues to point fingers at other for these missteps instead of taking responsibility and steps to correct the errors. These are still not reasons forme not to be engaged in the debate. I apologize for my absence. I am once again filled with passion for the cause

There is some light in the midst of all the darkness. Recent elections of Republican governors in Virginia and New Jersey were a sign that people may be starting to wake up and act. There have been mass demonstrations along with TV ads against the healthcare bill. The release of Sarah Palin’s book has drawn attention by the media. The Associated Press has eleven fact checkers combing the book to look for inconsistencies.

All these things are a sign that the tide is turning and that the BHO administration, along with congress is in trouble. This is our moment. We need to keep up the pressure on our elected officials to kill the healthcare bill in the Senate. With the 2010 elections coming up its time to circle the wagons, look out for the country and take back the house for conservatives. This essentially would make BHO a lame duck president. We must remember to put aside any personal agendas we have and keep our eyes on the prize. Conservative comeback 2010 begins.

Here's a thought, if you cant afford a cell phone on your current salary. DON'T GET ONE or get a second job to pay for the luxurys like many others do! Who decided that everyone is entitled to a cell phone? Was a constitutional amendment passed that I don't know about? If I have to pay for a someone else's phone shouldn't I get to decide who I want to have the phone? This is just another example of the left trying to buy votes from lower income voters. The way their job performance numbers looked in a recent poll, they need all the help they can get.

Men In Black

Do you recall the Men In Black movies? These movies were entertaining, but seemed to be a bit unrealistic at the time. In retrospect I think they were on to something. Maybe there really are alien life forms that are among us, that we don't know about. This could explain what's going on in Washington these days. Some members of Congress even look like aliens. I'll let you decide which ones they are. This would be a plausable explanation for some of the things they have done since the left has gained control of both the House and Senate. These people are so detached from the reallity it is possible they are from another planet. They have managed to seize control and are hell bent on destroying the American way of life. Maybe a Men in Black type organization could be formed to investigate this. We could send them back to thier home planets. We need to do something about what's going on in Washington.

Vacation

I was on vacation in Germany when I heard that BHO had won the Nobel Peace Prize. I was shocked to say the least. Apparently I was not the only one suprised. Someone who watched the announcement told me that there was a collective gasp from the crowd at the ceremony when his name was read.

I pondered how he could have won, given the fact that he has been in office 9 short months. Then I thought about all he has done in that time. Lets review shall we? BHO has repeatedly apologized for past administration's efforts to keep us safe and even bowed to the Saudi King. He has cut the Defense Department's budget and canceled the F-22 Fighter Jet production as well as the Missle Defense System that was going to be deployed in Eastern Europe. He has vowed to pull out of Iraq and close the detention center a Gitmo. He has entertained the idea of prosecuting members of the CIA for doing their job.

All this has done is make our country less safe. Basically it comes down to this: Our National Security has been sacrificed for an award that will do nothing to achieve peace and that most of us don't care about. Sleep well tonight.

Soda Tax

A tax on soda and other beverages high in sugar is being proposed to help increase revenue to help fund health care. The tax would basically be a soda tax. While the proposed tax would be rather modest, that isn't the point. How can this tax even be proposed? The President promised during the campaign not to raise taxes on anyone making less than 250k per year. He said "Not any Tax" although he has already gone back on that promise with the tax on tobacco which does affect people making less than 250k. Of course anyone with brain waves knew that taxes were going to increase. If a penny per can of soda would begin to solve our healthcare issues what reasonable person wouldn't be for the tax? This tax would do nothing to address these problem. Tort Reform, and Free Market solutions like, being able to shop for insurance across state lines, cheaper perscriptions by making drugs from other countries available. (competition) These are solutions, A soda tax......are they serious? Sadly they are.

Obama believes the bears won't kill him by Neil Braithwaite

Remember Timothy Treadwell, the bear enthusiast and environmentalist who lived for many seasons with the coastal grizzly bears in Alaska? And, remember what happened to Timothy and his girlfriend that fateful season in 2003 while they were living among the grizzlies? Sadly, those same grizzlies Timothy had grown to love and understand killed and partially ate both him and his girlfriend.
You see, while Timothy understood the danger involved with getting so close to a wild predator, he never really imagined those bears would kill him. Any rational thought of imminent danger Timothy may have had previously, was overruled by his obsession to live with the wild grizzlies year after year. Unfortunately for Timothy and his girlfriend, the grizzlies finally did what all predators do -- kill and eat.
With the Obama administration's latest cowering move to the Kremlin to abandon a missile defense plan for Europe, our new president continues his Treadwell-like behavior, on a foreign policy path with many predatory leaders who both articulate and pose an imminent threat to America. President Obama does perceive the danger to America in getting close to these murderous dictators, but like Timothy Treadwell, he refuses to allow sound reasoning to interfere with his overwhelming obsession to befriend them all.
But while Treadwell chose to endanger only himself and his girlfriend, President Obama is making a clear choice to endanger all of America with his reckless foreign policy.
Foreign leaders like Chavez, Ahmedinejad, Kim, Castro, and yes, even Putin, to name a few, are all predators just like the Alaskan grizzly. And all predators have habits and instincts that make them unpredictable, dangerous and eventually deadly.
Predators are also very patient and cunning when it comes to selecting their prey. They usually seek out the weak or injured so they can increase their chances of a successful kill. The predators President Obama is trying to befriend and get close to are being patient and cunning with him as well.
In less than ten months, President Obama's new policies have taken our country from being the world's strongest superpower to a weak and vulnerable nation being singled out as a prime target by these predators. Like the plight of Timothy Treadwell, it's only a matter of time for America before these predators do what they do -- kill and eat.

Jimmy Carter on Joe Wilson

Jimmy Carter called Joe Wilson a Racist based on Wilson's outburst during the president's address on healthcare. "I think it's based on racism," Carter said at a town hall held at his presidential center in Atlanta. "There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president."

While clearly inappropriate his comments were not racist. A democrat calling someone a racist is akin to calling them stupid. One of Sean Hannity's callers said "A democrat calling someone a racist is code for "You are winning the argument" How true. Joe Wilsons comments didn't mention race. He was just disputing BHO's claim that illegal aliens would be provided healthcare under this plan. Anytime someone is critical of this president they will get the race card thrown at them especially if they are right. If criticism is racism then the Democrats are as guilty as any other group. A quick google search of Michael Steele, leader of the Republican National Committee who is African American will yield numerous examples of the left criticizing Steele. By the left's definition this would be racism, except that Steele is a Republican so there is no mention of it by the media.

Carter is arguably the worst president in history. He was out of touch then as he is now. Look at the latest polls. Only 12% of likely voters think this is racially motivated. Pay no attention to Carter's Comments and keep up the fight to defeat goverment healthcare. This is just the latest in a series of attempts to get people to forget what the real issue is. Goverment take over of healthcare.

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans , would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?
If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?
If George W.. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plans holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this in Eight months , so you'll have three years and Four months to come up with an answer. No-common-sense, naive, incompetent, uninformed voters did this to themselves. Insanity is wide-spread. Real Americans are waking up.

One more Example. I heard this one and was shocked by its inaccuracy. If George W. Bush Had said at his first State of the Union that " We (meaning the United States) invented the automobile" What would you have thought?

I am not going to call the man dumb. That would be a tactic of the left. I'll just let you decide.

September 11

Here is a thought on September 11th that was sent to me. I think we would do well to embrace this idea.

Our world changed permanently on September 11 primarily because we havean enemy with whom we cannot reason and we cannot negotiate. Since thatday, decisions have been made by our country's leadership. Some decisions have seemed reasonable, others not so. Truth be told, NONE OFUS knows the right and wrong decisions. We have our OPINIONS, but this is not your typical enemy, so we must concede that "right" and "wrong"are ill-defined. Our enemy doesn't fly under the flag of a single country, which makes him elusive and practically undefeatable. We have won some battles along the way, but the enemy is still out there, with even greater hatred, waiting for another opportunity. When we let our guard down, he will strike. Failure to defend and protect ourselves is NOT AN OPTION. We define ourselves as liberals, conservatives, centrists, Democrats,Libertarians, Republicans, whites, African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Asian-Americans, rich, middle class, poor,homosexual, hetero-sexual, country, rap, alternative, rock-n-roll. On Friday, September 11, how about we all just stop and be Americans. We are blessed to live in the greatest country in the world. Sure, we have our challenges. The same challenges that we possess individually to be better people are reflected upon the entire country. But we must never lose sight of the fact that, while we may have our philosophical differences, we are all in this together.

BHO went on National Television last night attempting to sell his Health Care Plan. He didn't say anything new, but just used his skill as a wordsmith to make ther plan more paletable to the American People. He used the lefts typical scare tactics to try to acheive. he tried to make people believe that if they have insurance and get sick they will be dropped. This is simply NOT TRUE. He sighted a couple of isolated incidents of this, and tried to portray it as the norm. This practice simply doesnt happen alot because to drop someone form coverage only because they get sick is illegal. The Health Insurance Portability and Acountabilty Act Makes this practice illegal Here is a few things HIPPA does.

HIPAA Protects Workers And Their Families By
Limiting exclusions for preexisting medical conditions (known as preexisting conditions)
Providing credit against maximum preexisting condition exclusion periods for prior health coverage and a process for providing certificates showing periods of prior coverage to a new group health plan or health insurance issuer
Providing new rights that allow individuals to enroll for health coverage when they lose other health coverage, get married or add a new dependent
Prohibiting discrimination in enrollment and in premiums charged to employees and their dependents based on health status-related factors
Guaranteeing availability of health insurance coverage for small employers and renewability of health insurance coverage for both small and large employers
Preserving the states’ role in regulating health insurance, including the states’ authority to provide greater protections than those available under federal law.

The President said that the plan still has many details to work out . This comment drew laughter from some members of congress. I was offended that he was trying to sell a plan in which the details are not worked out. The devil is in the details Mr President. Give us some! Equally disturbing is his insistance on having a goverment option. The goverment will place so many restrictions on what insurance companies can do that they will not be able to compete. This is designed to drive these companies out of business and when this happens people will have to rely on the goverment option. Do not be fooled by all of the rhetoric used by the left. Remember. They want to advance their agenda, period!

I dont think this was said by accident, given what has transpired since BHO took office. BHO actually had the nerve to invoke the late Senator Kennedy's name. This was done to pull at the heart strings of America. This just goes to show that any tactic will be used to try to get this plan through. Don't fall into the trap. The facts are this plan will not be deficit neutral, will result in illegals getting free healthcare, will drive up prices, and eliminate competition. This will have disasterous results on the quality and availability of healthcare. The Facts are easy to find on the internet. President's Address to School Children

I would like to know who prepared this speech. The Speech was well written, but wasn't in keeping with typical liberal rhetoric. He stressed to the kids that they should WORK HARD. This is quite a departure from the usual liberal perspective. Liberals usually like to make excuses and point out what THEY preceive as injustices that keep certain groups from succeeding. Then they blame conservatives for the problem, while pandering to the teachers union and promising to fix things by raising taxes. This speech was quite the opposite and at times sounded like the standard parential First Day of School Speech. He did mention that despite all the obstacles faced by himself and the First Lady, they managed to succeed through hardwork. Of course there was no mention of some of the people and organizations that are the real reason for his success.
Addressing the children is well and good, but did he really do it to help them? More than likely this was just another liberal tactic to make themselves seem as if they really care more then those "mean ole" conservatives. Its all about votes, it always is. The preception that they care will be particularly important as they try to make the American People embrace the goverment takeover of healthcare. This was sent to me this week and it has rekindled the flames of freedom in me
I don't know who wrote this ' but I wish I had. We need more folks that feel this way to speak out. Of course is we do, we open ourselves up to being called Nazis by Nancy Pelousy and her ilk. ENJOY .

pray for him, BUT that is it. I have begun today to see what I can do to make sure that he is a one term President! Why am I doing this? It is because I do not share Obama's vision or Value system for America ;
I do not share his Abortion beliefs;
I do not share his radical Marxist's concept of re-distributing wealth;
I do not share his stated views on raising taxes on those who make
$250,000+ (the ceiling has been changed three times since August);
I do not share his view that America is Arrogant;
I do not share his view that America is not a Christian Nation; (THIS JUST SHOWS THAT OBAMA CERTAINLY ISN'T UP ON HIS AMERICAN HISTORY!)
I do not share his view that the military should be reduced by 25%;
I do not share his view of amnesty and giving more to illegals than American Citizens who need help; (NO WAY, JOSE’!)
I do not share his views on his definition of marriage;
I do not share his views that Radical Islam is our friend and Israel is our enemy who should give up any land; (GIMME A BREAK!)
I do not share his spiritual beliefs (at least the ones he has made
public);
I do not share his beliefs on how to re-create the healthcare system in America ;
I do not share his Strategic views of the Middle East, and certainly do not share his plan to sit down with terrorist regimes such as Iran .

Bottom line, my America is vastly different from Obama's, and I have a higher obligation to my God and my country to do what is Right!For eight (8) years, the Liberals in our Society, led by numerous entertainers who would have no platform and no real credibility but for their celebrity status, have attacked President Bush, his family and his spiritual beliefs! They have not moved toward the center in their beliefs and their philosophies, and they never came together nor compromised their personal beliefs for the betterment of our Country! They have portrayed my America as a land where everything is tolerated except being intolerant! They have been a vocal and irreverent minority for years; they have mocked and attacked the very core values so important to the founding and growth of our Country!They have made every effort to remove the name of God or Jesus Christ from our Society! They have challenged capital punishment, the right to bear firearms, and the most basic principles of our criminal code; they have attacked one of the most fundamental of all Freedoms, the right of free speech!

Unite behind Obama? Never!I refuse to retreat one more inch in favor of those whom I believe

Melancon throws his hat into the ring

With little more that 14 Months left before the congressional election Charlie Melancon has announced he will run for David Vitter's Senate seat. This came as no suprise to me as there has been speculation for quite some time this would occur. I have heard some people say they will vote against Vitter only because of the D.C. madam incident. This would be a mistake. I agree his actions were morally reprehensible especially from someone who preaches family values. This is not the time to let emotions get the best of us. I like Melancon. He is a Blue Dog Democrat with a fiscally conservative voting record. He would be a good Senator who could represent this state with honor, but thats not the only thing to consider.

The most important thing in the upcoming election is to gain control of the Senate, so that the BHO administration will not be able to just enact legislation without a fight. We need to keep the administration in check, and without control of at least a part of congress this will be impossible.
Also Vitter will have more influence in the Senate than a Freshman Senator. Longevity is important in the Senate and Louisiana needs as much influence as possible to make sure our concerns are addressed.

Lets look at the big picture when it comes to deciding who to vote for. We must, more then ever prioritize things and make the right choice for not only Louisiana, but the Country. That choice is to gain control of the Senate to stop BHO's agenda.

I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer. You haven't said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn't! Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that's $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million - not a bad take. Who authorized that and why haven't you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now. I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you. I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities. I promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that you do not get a chance to spend two terms destroying my beautiful country.

HR45 Gun Owners Watch Out
Concerning the Blair-Holt proposed legislation: Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax form all guns that > you have or own. It may require fingerprints and a tax of $50 per gun. In November, our lying president promised he was not going after our Second Amendment rights. This bill was introduced on Feb. 24. This bill will become public knowledge 30 days after it is voted into law. This is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the Finance Committee can pass this without the Senate voting on it at all.

Congress is now starting on the firearms confiscation bill. If it passes, gun owners will become criminals if you don't fully comply.
It has started. Very Important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into the House. This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009. Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because the government is trying to fly it under the radar.

Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm, any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless: It is registered, you are fingerprinted, you supply a current Driver's License, you supply your Social Security #. You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing. Each update change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25 Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail. There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18. They would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. In prison.

is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of
the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it. You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes,
gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late! The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson..

I really don't like to go into a tirade about things but I have had enough. The White House is requesting we report people that disseminate emails that they deem not factual. Some go so far as to call Veterans and Senior Citizens, some of whom are in wheel chairs an angry mob, and Nazis for speaking out at the few Town Hall Meetings they are they allow these people to attend. These were the same people that said it was patriotic to speak out during the Bush administration. Now when they have the power, they see things differently. They have no soul and will do anything to grasp as much power as they can despite the fact that most Americans are against this plan. They are even trying to take over our computers check out this email Iwas sent:

Watch the video, but do not go to the cars.gov web site. Once you see the video you'll understand why. I didn't think I would see the day when the government would turn on the people. This is exactlly what's happening. The best course of action is to keep the pressure on and scream from the mountain top that we are not happy. If our congress wants to get re-elected in 2010 they will listen. The only thing they really care about is votes. Yesterday Bill "Slick Willie"Clinton was able to secure the release of the two American journalists that had been unlawfully captured, and convicted of violent acts by North Korea. While I am glad they were released, I do have questions regarding the release. First, why was Willie the one to do this? Last time I checked he doesn't hold a cabinet position in BHO's administration. What makes him more qualified than anyone else given the fact that he has never really taken a tough stance against any dictator? What did we give up to secure the release? I am sure the North Koreans didn't just release them out of the kindest of their hearts. Having been stationed in South Korea and having been to the border of the North. It is quite apparent that Kim Jong Il doesn't do anything without having an agenda. He is one of the most brutal leaders in the world, so it stands to reason he wanted something in return. I'm sure we will find out what that was in due time.

The BHO regime missed a golden opportunity to deal with North Korea the right way, and send a message that we won't be pushed around. We should never bow down to some sawed off, lunatic dictator. There should have been no negotiating. We should have sent a clear message "Release them or else" Why do we feel the need to take crap from these 3rd world countries whose leaders are beyond derranged? The Left always tries to be reasonable with unreasonable people. This is another example of how detached from reality they are. Dictators only understand force, and we can apply more force than anyone else. Our military strength and our presence in the area are the only things we needed to secure release.
Humoring these nut jobs by negotiating with them, makes us appear weak. This will cause more things like this to happen.

Book Review

I have read quite a few books on political issues. I just finished one that I have to recommend everyone read. Glen Beck's Common Sense is a great book inspired by a writing of the same name by Thomas Payne.

Common Sense[1] is a pamphlet written by Thomas Paine. It was first published anonymously on January 10, 1776, during the American Revolution. Common Sense was signed "Written by an Englishman", and the pamphlet became an immediate success.[2] In relation to the population of the Colonies at that time, it had the largest sale and circulation of any book in American history. Common Sense presented the American colonists with a powerful argument for independence from British rule at a time when the question of independence was still undecided. Paine wrote and reasoned in a style that common people understood; forgoing the philosophy and Latin references used by Enlightenment era writers, Paine structured Co

mmon Sense like a sermon and relied on Biblical references to make his case to the people.[3] Historian Gordon S. Wood described Common Sense as, “the most incendiary and popular pamphlet of the entire revolutionary era.”

Beck's book examines how we have moved away from the vision the founding fathers had for the United States. He points out how both political parties have become self serving and have put their quest for power above the desires of the people. Although it is a short book, is packed with information as well as insight on how we can take the country back. Before reading this I enjoyed Glenn's radio show, but I wasn't aware of depth of his knowledge of the issues. He has written a couple of other books, which I haven't read, but plan to soon. He also has a follow up book to Common Sense called "Arguing with Idiots" that will examine how we got so far away from our founding values.

Press Conference

Lastnight BHO had a press conference on his plan to socialize healthcare. I must admit I feel a little quilty for not watching it. Though I had good reason not to watch it because I thought if I did I might HURL! I couldn't bear to watch another Press Conference full of the same tired platitudes we heard from the left at all of these staged events. This I know from living in other places and working in a healthcare facility that has doctors from Canada ,this form of healthcare will not work. My advice to BHO and his Ilk is to get off the crack you have obviously been smoking. What is being proposed hasn't worked anywhere it has been tried. STOP trying to scare us into accepting something so expensive and ineffective. Even some democrats realize that trying to slam this bill through quickly is political suicide. Here is an example of the sort of thing we need to be ready for if we let this happen.

Here is an email I got and this IS the way it works in England and Canada from what I understand from speaking to Canadian Doctors.

In England anyone over 59 cannot receive heart repairs or stents or bypass because it is not covered as being too expensive and not needed. Obama wants to have a healthcare system just like Canada 's and England's. I got this today and am sending it on. If Obama's plans in other areas don't scare you, this should. Please do not let Obama sign senior death warrants. Everybody that is on this mailing list is either a senior citizen, is getting close or knows somebody that is. Most of you know by now that the Senate version (at least) of the"Stimulus"Bill includes provisions for extensive rationing of health care for senior citizens. The author of this part of the bill, former senator and tax evader, Tom Daschle was credited today by Bloomberg with the following statement: Bloomberg: Daschle says, "Health-care reform will not be pain free. Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them." If this does not sufficiently raise your ire, just remember that our esteemed Senators and Congressmen have their own healthcare plan that is first dollar or very low co-pay which they are guaranteed the remainder of their lives and are not subject to this new law if it passes. Please use the power of the Internet to get this message out. Talk it up at the grassroots level. We have an election coming up in one year and nine months. And we have the ability to address and reverse the dangerous direction the Obama administration and its allies have begun and in the interim, we can make their lives miserable. Let's do this!

So now we need to pressure All of our Senators and Congressman to vote NO to any sort of Socialized healthcare. So write them, call them, email them. Lets derail Obamacare before it leaves the station.

Are you kidding me?

BHO's right hand man Joe Biden said the other day that to get out of the economic crisis we are in we need to spend more money. The worse part about all this is he really believes that. He is so far out of touch with reality I think the only plausable explanation is he is either mentally ill, or on the same thing many members of congress are on. Maybe someone slipped him some Obama Koolaid.

This just goes to show that the administration has no clue how to get us out of this crisis. This is like seeing someone in a hole and throwing them a shovel. Even some of the less loony in the democratic party are growing tired of this and are starting to see the writing on the wall.
If I were an adviser to Joe Biden I would offer him just one bit of advice.....SHUT UP!.
Never has the saying " It's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought of as an idiot, then to open it and remove all doubt" been so appropriate. In reality I hope he keeps talking.

Now with the healthcare plan not moving through as swiftly as BHO would like. I have a word of advice for the current leaders of this country. Barrack, Biden, Pelosi and Reid (AKA Larry, Curly, Moe, and Shemp). Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 at his family home in Atlanta, Georgia. King's grandfather was a Baptist preacher, and his father was pastor of Atlanta's Ebenezer Baptist Church. King earned his own Bachelor of Divinity degree from Crozier Theological Seminary in 1951 and earned his Doctor of Philosophy from Boston University in 1955. As a Baptist Minister, he was an eloquent civil rights movement leader from the mid-1950's until his death by assassination on April 3, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee where he was there to support striking sanitation workers. King registered as a Republican in 1956.
As pastor of a Baptist church in Montgomery, Alabama, King led a black bus boycott. He and ninety others were arrested and indicted under the provisions of a law making it illegal to conspire to obstruct the operation of a business. King and several others were found guilty, but appealed their case. A Supreme Court decision in 1956 ended Alabama's segregation laws enacted by Democrats. After this success, King was made president of the newly established Southern Christian Leadership Conference. King led the 1963 March on Washington where he delivered his most famous “I Have a Dream” speech. King became a national hero as he promoted non-violent means to achieve civil rights reform. He was awarded the 1964 Noble Peace Prize for his efforts, and President Ronald Reagan made King’s birthday a national holiday.
Dr King recoginzed that the best way to achieve equality was through self reliance. Self reliance enables people to reach their full potential uncumbered by reliance on the goverment. The Republican partyrepresents this philosophy. President Abraham Lincoln, a Republican signed the document that ended slavery. Republicans are the party of equality.

The Booty Stare

This is a rare moment for me. It's not often that I will defend BHO, but here goes. The coverage of the BHO supposedly staring at a 16 year old's backside is well.........ridiculous. While I will admit that from the still photos it appears that he is indeed learing at the young lady's backside, but the video tells a different story. If you watch the whole video he is clearly trying to help someone down the stairs. I think by now I have shown that I am not BHO's biggest fan, but even I cannot understand what all the fuss is about. Even if he was looking how would he know the age of the girl? She didn't look 16 and was dressed like a grown woman trying to be noticed. Did her parents know she left the house like that? So that I had a woman's perspective I had my better half look at the video and her conclusion coincided with mine.

With so many other far more important things we could be critical of when it comes to the president this is what we focus on? Why don't we start paying as much attention to the issues facing the country as we do on such trite issues as this? This is a tactic the Left uses to criticize conservatives when they can't find anything else to use against them. I for one am not playing this game.

Numbers and Blunders

The numbers are coming in. The stimulus isn't working. BHO's Poll numbers are dropping in Virginia , Ohio and among independents. The number of unemployed is rising. The country seems to be awakening to the fact that Congress and the administration doesn't have a clue when it comes to the economy, or anything else for that matter. This coupled with recent blunders like the BHO overseas apology tour, the pandering to Russia, ignoring the obviously threats of Iran and Korea, plans to cut missle defense, supporting the dictatorship in Nicaragua and on and on and on.......... This is exactly what was predicted by many. If our country can survive all this, things can bode well for Republicans in the 2010 and 2012 elections. It seems like some BHO supporters are starting to realize that change is not always positive change. Maybe this will encourage people to pay attention to what's going on. The Republican party has an opportunity to take advantage of this situation, but we must offer solutions. The tried and true formula of smaller goverment, personal responsibility, lower taxes, strong national security and most of all fiscal responsibility has always been the solution. Let make sure we let the Republican leadership know we are aware of whats going on and will vote for positive change if they stick to these principles. First we get congress and the senate then we get the white house

Palin's Announcement

Sarah Palin's announcement of her resignation puzzled many, including me. Upon reflection and looking at every video clip of the announcement I could find, I understand. Given the current political climate it just might be the right move at the right time. We must remember that she is not your typical elitest politician. Most on the left hate her for that reason and will bash her no matter what she does. On the other hand the perceptive among us like her for that same reason. She has shown more strength through all the slander that has come her way then most people could. I think the reasons she stated for her resignation are the reasons. Look at some of the video and decide for yourself.

Does she have ambitions for a 2012 run.......maybe. She could have gotten re-elected and then ran while drawing her salary and not doing her job like so many have. BHO, the Media Golden Boy did the same thing while he ran for President. He was getting paid his full Senate salary as were Senators McCain and Clinton. This is a common practice, but its not right. Governor Palin goes against the grain. Maybe that's just what the country needs.

While I admire her, I don't want to sound as if I would endorse her if she ran. I have someone in mind for 2012. 2012 is a long time away and many things can happen before then. However Palin as President wouldn't be the worse thing for the country. Just look at what's happening now.

4th of July

Here's some history. This is REAL sacrifice. I bet you won't hear any of this mentioned this weekend by the media.

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence? Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured. Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War. They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. What kind of men were they? Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated, but they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured. Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags. Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward. Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton. At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt. Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months. John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished.

So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank these patriots. It's not much to ask for the price they paid. Remember: freedom is never free! It's time we get the word out that patriotism is NOT a sin, and the Fourth of July has more to it than beer, picnics, and baseball games.

The week in review

Yesterday numbers were released that show the Stimulus Bill is not helping the economy. Unemployment is at a 26 year high of 9.5%. 467,000 lost jobs. The President PROMISED the unemployment would not go above 8% and that the stimulus would preserve jobs. Well the President was WRONG. The economy is a train wreck, and we are along for the ride.

To add to this sunny picture there are higher taxes on the horizon. During his campaign the President said the no one who makes under $250k a year would not see their taxes go up. Guess what WRONG AGAIN. The Cap and Tax if approved by the Senate will raise everyones energy rates electricity could go up 90% and gas by 74%. There is also talk of a value added or VAT tax. There are also plans to TAX medical benefits. So much for promises.

In other news South Carolina Govenor Mark Sanford refuses to resign despite being urged to do so by close friends.

E's View is that Sanford must go. With the Obama administration going back on all its promises and poll numbers dropping, now is the time for the Republican Party to stand up and walk the talk. We need to be the party of ethics and morals that we claim to be. We have to avoid anything negative taking the focus away from the mess the administration is making of the country. The Govenor should resign so the we can focus on our weakened National Security and the economic landslide.

State Issues

With so much focus on National issues there hasn't been much attention on Louisiana.
The State budget has been passed with some of the cuts made by the Govenor to Education and Healthcare reinstated. The inital cuts made were too deep. I think the Govenor did this on purpose so that after the budget was reworked it would be something the state could afford. Good job Govenor Jindal!
The Govenor also signed the alternate diploma plan.

Alternate high school diploma plan goes to Jindal by The Associated Press Tuesday June 23, 2009, 3:30 PM BATON ROUGE -- The Legislature has approved a plan to create a new diploma and curriculum for public high school students. A unanimous Senate vote today sent the bill by Sen. Robert Kostelka, a Monroe Republican, to Gov. Bobby Jindal. The governor has said he supports it. The legislation is aimed at reducing the number of high school and middle school dropouts. The new curriculum would be less geared toward college preparation, and more toward teaching students technical skills for blue collar jobs. National education advocates have condemned the plan, objecting to a provision that makes it easier for students to get past standardized tests in eighth grade. They have said students who take the new curriculum will emerge from high school with inadequate English and math skills.

E's View

This plan is controversal. As one who has lived where there is a similar education system. I can tell you this, It works.
It gives kids with either no interest in attending college, or lack aptitude to go to college a chance to learn a trade that will give them skills to make a good living. They will learn the level of math and english that is appropriate to the vocational program they are in. It is certainly better than kids becoming frustrated and dropping out of school. We need productive citizens that won't have to rely on government assistance. This is a step in the right direction.

Climate Bill

Yesterday the CAP and Tax Bill was narrowly passed the House of Rep. This will cost jobs and costs the average American family more in taxes and will most likely kill the coal industry costing thousands of jobs. Waxman-Markey Global Warming Bill: Economic Impact by Congressional District

It has become quite clear over the past several months that placing a cap on carbon emission--via rationing, taxing, and eliminating consumer choice--will have major implications for American families and the economy.
An analysis of the Waxman-Markey bill (as reported out of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce) by The Heritage Foundation found that unemployment will increase by nearly 2 million in 2012, the first year of the program, and reach nearly 2.5 million in 2035, the last year of the analysis. Total GDP loss by 2035 would be $9.4 trillion. The national debt would balloon as the economy slowed, saddling a family of four with $114,915 of additional national debt. Families would also suffer, as the bill would slap the equivalent of a $4,609 tax on a family of four by 2035.[1]
Heritage is not alone in its assessment. The National Black Chamber of Commerce[2] and the Brookings Institution[3] also project huge job losses. Proponents of a national energy tax will quickly point to a recent Congressional Budget Office memo[4] and Environmental Protection Agency[5] analysis suggesting low per family costs. Those estimates are grossly inaccurate, as both the CBO memo and the EPA's analysis contain flaws too serious for use as measures of the economic impact of the Waxman-Markey bill.
While national numbers are startling, many Members of Congress may be tempted to assume that their congressional districts will not be affected because they "cut a deal" or they have an incomplete view of how the American economy functions. Thus, it is crucially important that the Members making decisions, and the people affected by those decisions, understand how their congressional districts will be impacted by Waxman-Markey, or any type of national energy tax.
The table below lays out six congressional district specific data points:
Gross State Product Loss in 2012: This number is the amount of economic destruction that will occur in that district in the first year of the cap-and-trade regime.
Average Gross State Product Loss, 2012-2035: Same as above, only it is the average economic destruction in the district for the bill's first 24 years.
Personal Income Loss in 2012: This number represents the reduction in consumer spending power in a district in the first year of the cap-and-trade regime.
Average Personal Income Loss, 2012-2035: Same as above, only it is the reduction in consumer spending power in the district for the bill's first 24 years.
Non-Farm Job Loss in 2012: Jobs are jobs, and in the first year of the cap-and-trade regime, each district will have significantly less than they otherwise could.
Average Non-Farm Job Loss, 2012-2035: This number is crucially important because it demonstrates that no district gains jobs, even in the long run; the increase in "green jobs" does not outweigh the decrease in jobs elsewhere.
A Final Note on Jobs
During the "stimulus" debate, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs lamented that "more companies [have] announced mass layoffs."[6] The Bureau of Labor Statistics defines mass layoffs as "where private sector nonfarm employers indicate that 50 or more workers were separated from their jobs for at least 31 days." Under Waxman-Markey, on average each congressional district would experience the equivalent of more than 52 mass layoffs.
Although losing several thousand jobs may not seem like a lot to some politicians who are stuck inside the beltway, the mass layoffs resulting from Waxman-Markey should make any politician--and hard working American--cringe.

BOMBSHELL…Supreme Court now has Obama Citizenship
AP- WASHINGTON D.C. - In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama's qualifications for the presidency, the group Americans for Freedom of Information has Released copies of President Obama's college transcripts from Occidental College Released today, the transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school.
The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program.
To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship. This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama's detractors have been seeking.
Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying for US citizenship, this is looking pretty grim. The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama's legitimacy and qualification to serve as president.
When reached for comment in London , where he has been in meetings with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Obama smiled but refused comment on the issue.
Britain 's Daily Mail also carried the story in a front-page article titled, Obama Eligibility Questioned leading some to speculate that the story may overshadow economic issues on Obama's first official visit to the U.K.
In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups, Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments concerning Obama's legal eligibility to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey .
This lawsuit claims Obama's dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. Donofrio's case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obama' s citizenship or qualification to serve as president.
Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama's campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still ongoing but that the final report will be provided to the U.S. Attorney General, Eric Holder. Mr. Holder has refused to comment on the matter.

Pass this along. So far, Obama's mainstream media haven't touched it!
I urge everyone to write their Senetors on this as well and demand an investigation.

What a Plan

The President unveiled his Healthcare Plan last night…well sort of. He wasn’t very specific on how he plans to accomplish all he proposes. He used phrases like, “We need to find a way” on a few occasions. When he did offer concrete examples of things that could be done he borrowed things that have been proposed before. He used the Mayo Clinic as an example of how we could cut some cost. They of course are a hospital in the private sector that has managed to cut cost through innovation, not through government intervention. He also admitted to that it will cost about 2 Trillion Dollars in the next 10 years. The math works out to about $66,000 per person or about $6600.00 per person per year. The average person sees a doctor 3 times a year. That comes to $2200.00 per visit.
Does this really sound like it is reducing the cost of healthcare?

Healthcare cost can be reduced by ending frivolous lawsuits which skyrocket the cost of malpractice insurance. Developing Co-Ops so small businesses can pool resources, making plans more affordable. Also offer a lower corporate tax rate on all companies that produce drugs and medical equipment Etc. The U.S. has the 2nd highest corporate tax rate in the world. Finally stop illegal aliens; oh I’m sorry I mean undocumented workers from gaining access to our healthcare system.

The answer is not, nor will it ever be government. If you don’t believe me ask Canadians how happy they are with their healthcare.

Press Conference

The President's news conference was a dog and pony show. He really didn't do anything other then change his tone, finally condemning Iran. He says his tone has been consistent, not exactly. Just few short days ago he said we shouldn't interfere. Now since other countries have spoken out, it seems as though he is jumping on the band wagon. What a big suprise. No action on North Korea also no suprise. Tomorrow we will here about Obama care. The plan will cost around 2 TRILLION dollars and still won't provide coverage for everyone. Didn't he promise in his campaign that he could come up with a plan to cover everyone? If this plan happens the National Debt clicker at the top of this site will spin as fast as slot machine reels.

A wonderful Monday

With so much going on today I don't know where to start. Korea has a ship in the ocean that is probably carrying weapons; a ship we are following but won't search. The riots continue on the heels of their "Democratic Election" while we stand idlely by and let the civil unrest in the region cause needless deaths and the oppression negatively affect our fragile economy due to the effect it has on the oil market.
With all of this going on the President chose to do something really important. He signed a bill today that is going to give the FDA (Goverment) total control of the tobacco industry. This bill is suppose to stop underage smoking. While eliminating certain forms of advertising and lowering the amount of nicotine cigarettes contain sounds like a good idea, it will do nothing to curtail the use of cigarettes by young people. It will cause people addicted to nicotine to buy more cigarettes since the amount of nicotine is reduced. This of course is not being done for health reasons, but because of the increased revenue it will generate. While this isn't a bad thing it doesn't address the real problems caused by smoking.

The President could have better used his time addressing nut jobs with missles and stabilizing the situation in Iran. Where are our priorities? What will keep us safe more tobacco tax or disarming dictator with weapons?
